Introducing askmyGP to Riverside Medical Practice - a quick and easy online consultation platform for your GP Practice.

We have taken on feedback from our patients, carers and staff to improve access and continuity within Riverside Medical Practice. askmyGP is an easier way for you to request help from your GP Practice for yourself, your child or someone that you care for.

You no longer need to call the surgery to request help or book an appointment with your GP which saves you time and means you can submit a time that suits you.

Please note: Please note we now operate a same day service for GP appointments, please only submit a request if you would like it addressing today, otherwise you must wait and send your request on a day that suits you. If you are requesting a home visit please request this before 11am. If you feel you need a face to face appointment please submit your request before 12pm.

Please bear with us throughout the launch of this new system and altered process of contacting your GP.

Disclaimer - If you feel your request is more urgent or is for a nurse appointment please contact the surgery on 01743 367891 before 18:00. Please note nurse appointments can be pre booked in advance and should be booked outside of ask my gp.

Don't have a computer or smartphone?

You can still telephone us on 01743 367891 to request help. We aim to make access easier for every patient and reflect patients needs and individual circumstances.

How askmyGP works:

How it works

How do I register?

Go to our askmyGP page and follow the link. You may need to click ‘accept cookies’ for it to work. The link takes you through to the askmyGP portal where you can enter to get advice or consult your GP. New users will need to add a few details when first making a request. All you need is your name, date of birth, an email address and a phone number.

Frequently asked questions:

Why is my usual doctor not listed to choose from?

You can request to see any doctor working in the practice that day. If they are not in, their name won’t be shown. You can find out when your doctor is working here: Staff Availability

Can I make a request for someone else?

Yes. First register yourself as a user on askmyGP. Once you are registered, there is an option to select ‘I am a Parent or Carer’. From here you can register the patient using their name, date of birth and gender. You only have to do this the first time you put in a request for them.

This tool is best for those who:

  • Have a child registered at Riverside Medical Practice
  • Have an elderly parent or grandparent registered with us
  • Care for a disabled person
  • Look after someone with learning disabilities
  • Share an email address with someone

For more information about using askmyGP on behalf of another person, please call 01743 367891.

How long will it take for my doctor to respond?

The clinician that has been assigned to your care will get back to you as soon as they can. We aim to do this within 2 hours of your request, during service times. Queries raised out of hours will be dealt with in priority order when the practice is next open.

If it is outside of service times and you feel that your request is urgent, please contact the surgery on 01743 367891 before 18:00. If the surgery is closed, call 111 or visit them here for advice: 111.nhs.uk
