Nurse/HCA Appointments

Routine and follow-up appointments must be booked if you wish to see one of the practice nurses or health care assistants

Nurse-Led Clinic

If you develop a new or urgent problem that requires medical attention that day you may be offered an appointment in our Nurse-Led Clinic (NLC) where a specially-trained nurse can offer suitable treatment and prescriptions if needed.

Ask at reception for more information.

This service is not suitable for patients who are pregnant, under one year of age or who suffer from some other specific problems - please be prepared to tell reception staff what your problem is so that they can ensure that you recieve:

  • The most appropriate medical care,
  • From the most appropriate health professional

Extended Access Opening Hours

We would like all patients in our community to be able to see a local GP or nurse when they need to. As such we have set up a network of GP Practices within your community offering extended opening hours for pre-bookable routine extended access appointments.  The GP extended opening hours service operates between 6.30pm-8.00pm on weekdays and at weekends 8.00am-1.00pm (Saturdays) and 8.00am and 12.30 (Sunday and bank holiday)via a local area hub practice. This allows patients the opportunity to be seen within a network of GP Practices at a convenient time and location, depending on availability ** Please note that this might not always be at YOUR practice location. To book an appointment within this service please call and speak to a member of staff as ask for an extended hours appointment.  For further information about Extended Acvess please select the Extended Access tab. 

In addition to the types of appointments available within our extended appointment provision we are also pleased to confirm cervical screening and NHS health checks can also be booked. 

Chaperone Policy

All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination or procedure where they consider one is required. The chaperone may be a family member or friend, but on occasions a formal chaperone may be preferred.

Patients are advised to ask for a chaperone if required, at the time of booking an appointment, if possible, so that arrangements can be made and the appointment is not delayed in any way. The healthcare professional may also require a chaperone to be present for certain consultations.

Telephone Appointments

Telephone consultations may be booked with your doctor. If you feel that your problem can be dealt with by means of a telephone consultation, please ask for this when you ring the appointments line.


It would be very helpful if you could notify the practice at the earliest possible opportunity if you are unable to keep an appointment you have booked. This will ensure that the doctor's or nurse's time is not wasted and will make that appointment available for another patient who needs it.
